Scotland Weekend in Largs and Gourock

Gourock

We are back home again after a lovely weekend in Gourock. Mick managed to get 2 games of golf in and Nick and I chilled.

The journey up to Scotland went well apart from the M8 being closed around Glasgow and so added at least another 30 min to our journey. When we arrived at the Ramada Jarvis Hotel in Gourock the rooms we had booked were not available and we had to wait in the bar until the manager arrived. This was not a bad idea as we were all dying for a drink but low and behold they had run out of brandy! The manager arrived some time later and we got new rooms although not interconnected as booked but across the hall from each other.

What a beautiful view we discovered when we opened the curtains first thing that morning and the sun shone from a nearly cloudless sky. I knew at once that I was going to love our short break. After filling ourselves with lots of breakfast Mick went off to golf and Nick and I ventured out to explore the surroundings.

We had a wonderful afternoon and even managed to have a late lunch outside in the sunshine.
